Whatsapp’s next big update for India users is here. Forget about Gpay, Paytm, Phonepay and all other micro payment apps.

Starting today, people across India will be able to send money through WhatsApp 💸 This secure payments experience makes transferring money just as easy as sending a message.

This is a big development – UPI is one of the most elegant payment platforms there is globally, and Whatsapp is increasingly the de facto lingua franca of online transactions in India with small businesses. Watch out for the challenges with being too frictionless though.

Big daddy arrived, but NPCI put 30% cap on third parties. Let’s see how it all roll.
